Advanced safety technology

To support the exceptional driving experience, the UX 300e features a host of advanced safety technologies that have been updated with new functionality for additional peace of mind.

Dynamic Radar cruise control (DRCC)

Dynamic Radar cruise control (DRCC)

In addition to maintaining a constant speed, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) uses the radar and camera sensors to detect a vehicle driving ahead and is designed to maintain an appropriate distance between vehicles. The millimeter wave radar sensor provides a wide detection angle, resulting in enhanced forward detection capability. DRCC means the vehicle is also capable of low speed stop-start driving at speeds between 0 and approximately 30km/h - reducing the burden on the driver who may be navigating congested traffic.7

Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)

Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)

When the vehicle is in motion, the rear bumper radars are designed to detect vehicles in adjacent lanes that may not be visible in the door mirrors. The system is then designed to activate an LED warning indicator in the side mirror when a vehicle enters this blind spot. The system may detect vehicles approaching at speed from the rear within the blind spot. Blind Spot Monitor is available on both Luxury and Sports Luxury grades.7

Adaptive High-Beam System (AHS)

Adaptive High-Beam System (AHS)

A camera is located behind the windshield glass, which detects light from vehicles in front, and is designed to automatically adjust the headlamp light distribution to reduce impact of high beams illuminating oncoming or preceding vehicles. AHS is available on the Sports Luxury grade.7

Pre-Collision Safety System (PCS)

Pre-Collision Safety System (PCS)

When the radar and camera sensor determine that a collision is likely, PCS is designed to warn the driver so they can perform evasive manoeuvres. The system is designed to alert the driver to a possible collision and activate the pre-collision brakes to help mitigate the impact force. PCS also features daytime and night-time pedestrian detection, and daytime bicycle detection.7

Lane Trace Assist (LTA)

Lane Trace Assist (LTA)

When driving on highways or roads with white or yellow lines, or when DRCC is in use, the LTA system is designed to partially assist the driver's steering operation to avoid lane or road departure. LTA is also designed to track the preceding vehicle, even if it's difficult to detect the lane's edge lines.7

Road Sign Assist (RSA - Speed Signs Only)

Road Sign Assist (RSA - Speed Signs Only)

The front camera on the vehicle is designed to detect certain regulatory speed signs and display them on the multi-information display, and on Sports Luxury grade, on the Head-Up Display.

When the speed limit sign is displayed, the system is designed to invert the speed sign colours if the driver exceeds the specified speed limit.7

Panoramic View Monitor (PVM)

Panoramic View Monitor (PVM)

To help check areas surrounding the vehicle that are difficult to see from the driver's seat, the system shows a bird's-eye view of the vehicle in real time on the 10.3-inch multimedia display, using a composite image taken by cameras mounted on the front, sides, and rear of the vehicle. PVM is available on the Sports Luxury grade.7

Parking Support Brake (PKSB)

Parking Support Brake (PKSB)

PKSB uses Intelligent Clearance Sonar (ICS) and Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) radars to help detect static objects in the vehicle's direction of travel, or rear-crossing vehicles. If travelling at low speeds (<15km/h) and the PKSB system deems a collision may occur, it can alert the driver with an audible buzzer. If the driver does not take action to avoid the possible collision, PKSB is designed to help reduce drive force and, if needed, apply brake force to help mitigate damage.7

PKSB is available on Luxury and Sports Luxury grades.
